Tanzanite wines are hand crafted with skill and care by Melanie van der Merwe within the Robertson Valley in the Western Cape of South Africa. Her passion in life is to create an excellent and unique South African Cap Classique - which is shown in both her Brut and Brut Rosé creations.

Robertson is famous for its chalk in the soil where Melanie, in partnership with farmer, Ernst Bruwer, planted their very own Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. After years of trials they found the terroir gave a beautiful complexity to the end products.

Wines are left on the lease for a minimum 24 months where the end product is finally disgorged, bottled and limited to 6000 bottles annually.

Limited quantities are made as Melanie firmly believes this is the only way wines can be handled personally from picking of the grapes, to riddling and degorgement of the wine. It’s a hand crafted wine made with lots of patience and care.

Grapes: 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay

Nose: Delicate red fruit aromas, with a generous, elegant and peppery nose.

Palate: Fresh punch of flavour followed by harmonious sensation on the palate.

Time on the Lees: 31 months

Winemaker Notes: The Brut Rosé has a beautiful, sumptuous and luminous pink appearance.

Enjoy when having a cocktail party as the wine of choice for aperitifs on the terrace and in the garden, scented with summer perfumes, or enjoy it by the glowing fireplace in winter.

Recommended to serve with roasted white meat, game, tapas, ham and smoked salmon.
