The Aurelia is Groote Post winemaker, Lukas Wenztel’s own special creation, named after his matriarch born in the 1700’s, and who married the first Wenztel to arrive in the Cape. Aurelia displays very strong honey and dried apricot flavours on the nose. A full bodied palate, rounded off by displaying well integrated acid with a yeasty biscuit flavour.
Aurelia shows a lovely golden colour, a beautiful characteristic imparted by its time spent gracefully maturing on fine lees. Spending a minimum of 22 months on the lees, the Aurelia Cap Classique has a beautifully balanced profile with a sensational mouth-filling quality, making it a delightful addition to any celebration.
